The Frederick C. Whitney Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America was established at San Diego State University in 1971. It seeks to cultivate future public relations leaders by offering tools, support and opportunities necessary for each member to find success in their desired career path.
Specifically, the chapter aims to foster the following:
- Understanding the current theories and procedures of the profession
- Appreciation of the highest ethical ideals and principles
- Awareness of an appropriate professional attitude
- Appreciation of Associate Membership in PRSA and eventually accredited membership
