The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is the foremost organization for students interested in public relations and communications.
The student-run organization seeks to advance the public relations profession by nurturing future professionals through workshops and guest lectures.

PRSSA is made up of more than 11,000 students and advisers organized into 300 plus Chapters in the United States. It is headquartered in New York City, and led by a National Committee of PRSSA and PRSA members. The group has a rich history of support from its parent organization, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), which offers professional development, networking opportunities and news.

Enhance Your Education.
PRSSA can help you gain the experience and practical knowledge employers are seeking. We offer competitions, awards, leadership opportunities and hundreds of scholarships exclusive to PRSSA members, as well as a publication to keep you updated on industry trends.

Broaden Your Network.
Once you join PRSSA you get access to a database with a directory of working PRSA professionals who are willing to look over resumes and allow students to shadow. We also provide the opportunity to meet current professionals through PRSSA monthly meetings, monthly tours to KC business and PR Crawls. Once a month PRSSA goes on office tours in KC to a variety of business in the communications profession. This gives members an opportunity to learn where they might want to work or apply for an internship while also making valuable connections.

Launch Your Career.
As a PRSSA member, you can use the PRSA Jobcenter and PRSSA Internship Center to find public relations employment opportunities all over the world.  Over all, we want KU PRSSA to be worth your time and to help bridge the gap between graduation and a career.

Meeting are held every first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm in the Journalism school.

*note: Dues are required to become a member of KU PRSSA. For questions on how to become a member please email us at prssakansas@gmail.com
