Heartbeat Heard ‘round the World: PR is Nonprofits Lifeline

Kirsten Heintz is Director of Marketing and Communications for LOPA (Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency). Kirsten joined LOPA in 2005 as Hospital Development Manager, and served as Director of Development from 2007-2010. She has served on HRSA’s Workplace Partnership for Life Leadership Team since 2010. HRSA used the success of the Louisiana Hospital Campaign, created under Kirsten’s leadership, to create the Workplace Partnership for Life Hospital Campaign, which has been implemented in all 50 states.
Kirsten has functioned in several roles over her tenure, including working with families at the hospital to offer them the opportunity to donate. She feels her direct involvement in the process has deeply influenced her perspective on how to share the powerful stories of donation and transplantation. Many of these stories are shared in The Gifted Life Podcast, which Kirsten is the executive producer of, and the only podcast about donation and transplantation.  She serves as the state team leader for Donate Life Louisiana and served on the Advisory Committee for Donate Life America from 2014-2016.
