Day of Competition: The First ‘Torneo PRSSA’ in Latin America
September 11, 2016
LIMA, PERU (Sept. 11, 2016) — The Universidad de San Martín de Porres (USMP) PRSSA Chapter hosted the first ever Torneo PRSSA (Torneo means tournament in Spanish) in Peru on July 9. This tournament is an adaptation of the Day of Competition held each year during National Assembly. This event was well received by PRSSA members and was a success on social media as #TorneoPRSSA became a trending topic on Twitter in Lima.
For Torneo PRSSA, five groups of eight members developed a communications plan to overcome the alleged crisis belonging to a specific company. The time limit for the development of this strategic plan was one hour and ten minutes; thereafter, each group shared their ideas before a judging panel made up of founding members of the USMP Chapter, now members of PRSA.
“Torneo PRSSA was an excellent opportunity to learn how to do strategic planning in a short time,” said Adriana Kourtesis, member of the winning team. “Also, this activity helped us to improve our teamwork skills and develop a successful strategy together. I think it was a great experience, especially because of the feedback we received.”
