OREM, Utah (Nov. 11, 2016)  — Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) Chapter at Utah Valley University (UVU) hosted the Chick-fil-A’s Director of Innovation & New Ventures, L.J. Yankosky on Sept. 21, 2016. All students, alumni and faculty were invited to attend the event at 7 p.m. on the UVU campus.

Yankosky’s presentation focused on corporate communication and innovation with a portion of the night dedicated to a question and answer period. He spoke about Chick-fil-A’s public relations/marketing strategy, customer service and their new, innovative designs. The event was live tweeted on the UVU PRSSA Twitter account for those who were unable to attend (@uvuprssa / #PRSSAlovesCHICKFILA).

“The event went so much better than I could have ever imagined,” said Alanna Cottem, UVU PRSSA, vice president of events. “LJ is a personable, top-tier professional and it was a pleasure to learn from him. We were fortunate we got to have him come out and speak with us.”

His team does this through developing new and innovative efforts based on emerging societal and technological trends. Previously, Yankosky led teams that managed partnerships with the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game, College Football Playoff, Chick-fil-A Leader Academy high-school leadership program, College Football Hall of Fame and Chick-fil-A Fan Experience.

Yankosky graduated from Georgia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. From there, he continued his education by performing research for NASA under a research grant for his master’s degree at Georgia Tech.
