Andrew Cook as Guest Speaker at UF PRSSA Chapter

March 16, 2018

GAINESVILLE, Fla (Feb. 18, 2018) — PRSSA National President, Andrew Cook spoke at the University of Florida PRSSA Chapter’s first spring general meeting, which took place on January 17 at the UF College of Journalism and Communications.

Cook explained how being a member of PRSSA has helped him network with people across the United States and earn various internship opportunities. By attending the 2015 PRSSA National Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, Cook was able to create new connections with people from Virginia, California, Utah, Idaho and Nevada.

“PRSSA has become my vehicle to do something great and change the world, both locally and internationally,” Cook said.

PRSSA aims to provide exceptional service to its members by enhancing their education, broadening their professional network and helping launch their careers after graduation.

Cook encouraged students to utilize the PRSSA website as a tool to find internships, be successful during their academic career and actively participate with their local Chapter. He suggested that between now and graduation, students should contact PRSSA and PRSA members in different cities to learn how public relations influences their area.

“Each of you has a potential to do great things,” Cook said. “I love how the University of Florida has this theme of greatness.”
