Ben Butler Honored as Hall of Fame Award Recipient

October 25, 2019

NEW YORK, Oct. 25, 2019 — Ben Butler, APR, founder of Pittsburgh-based brand public relations and design agency Top Hat, received the Hall of Fame Award at the PRSSA 2019 International Conference.

This prestigious award is given to a PRSSA alumni who has built a distinguished career in public relations and continues to support the Society. After chartering a PRSSA Chapter at Geneva College in 2012, Butler served on the PRSSA 2013–2014 National Committee as vice president of public relations, a role now known as vice president of digital communications. During this term, Butler was the recipient of the Elaine Averick Outstanding National Committee Member Award.

Butler has spent the past six years leading Top Hat, a seven-person team that has received three Silver Anvil Awards from PRSA. He actively serves in both PRSA and PRSSA, leading the PRSA Pittsburgh Chapter as its president and returning to the PRSSA National Committee as the 2018–2020 National Professional Adviser.

“Given what PRSSA has meant and given to me in my career, there is no greater honor I can receive than this, Butler said. “Thank you to those who thought I was worthy.”
