UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (March 30, 2010) — Lights, camera, fashion! The Lawrence G. Foster Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) hosted its second annual Spring Fashion Show on Wednesday, March 24 to raise funds for State College High School’s A Prom Attire.

March Fadness: Fall Away from Drab, Spring into Fashion featured more than 40 designs from local stores in the surrounding State College region. The outfits were divided and modeled into three categories: business, casual and night life. The show also featured up and coming artist Mairys Joaquin and local disc jockey DJ Mast.

“Our members had a blast modeling outfits from local stores and working with A Prom Attire,” said Penn State PRSSA Chapter President Dana Bubonovich. “High school proms cost a lot of money, and to be able to help local girls reduce that cost is a wonderful feeling.”

A Prom Attire helps underprivileged girls experience the prom of their dreams. The program strives to recycle and reuse gently used prom dresses for girls who cannot afford prom. The organization just recently celebrated its fifth year serving Centre County. More than 150 dresses were given away at this year’s event.

In total, the event raised more than $230 for A Prom Attire. Members also collected used dresses, shoes, jewelry and handbags to donate to the organization.
