PRSSA Announces 12 Star Chapters

(NEW YORK) — The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) established 12 of its Chapters as “Star Chapters” during the Society’s recent National Conference. The distinguished title is bestowed upon Chapters for reaching specific Chapter and professional development goals

The Star Chapter Awards challenge a Chapter’s activity on and off campus. Chapters must meet eight of the 10 national requirements for the award, such as attending national PRSSA events, dedicating a meeting to ethics or implementing a national initiative within the Chapter. In addition, the award challenges Chapters to execute community service initiatives, develop their diversity and encourage active membership.

This year’s Star Chapters are:

“Selection as a Star Chapter means you are an example to other Chapters within PRSSA. It means that your Chapter understands the importance of being an effective and strong group to create bright and knowledgeable public relations professionals,” said Vice President of Member Services Vanessa Perkins. “It is a true honor to receive such recognition from PRSSA.”  The Star Chapter Awards are announced during the Society’s annual National Conference.
