OUTSTANDING PUBLIC RELATIONS STUDENTS RECOGNIZED BY THE DANIEL J. EDELMAN/PRSSA AWARDS
CHICAGO, December 7, 2011– Edelman, the world’s largest public relations firm, announced today it is accepting applications for the 2012 Daniel J. Edelman/PRSSA Award.
The honor, named for the chairman and founder of Edelman, has been presented annually since 1990 to two active members of the Public Relations Student Society of America who demonstrate exceptional leadership ability and a commitment to a career in the field. Submissions are due by February 3rd.
The winner receives a $1,500 cash award and a paid internship at one of Edelman’s U.S. offices. The runner-up receives a $500 cash award and the opportunity to interview with Edelman for a paid internship position.
The Daniel J. Edelman/PRSSA Award was created to offer the brightest and most talented students an opportunity to develop through high-quality work assignments and a multifaceted work environment.
Previous award winners include students from Michigan State University, Hawaii Pacific University, Valparaiso University, Boston University, Loyola University in New Orleans and the University of Texas.
Students competing for the award must be a PRSSA member. They will be judged on their public relations-related achievements, activities and recommendations from faculty members and/or industry professionals. Students also will be evaluated on creativity, attention to detail and writing skills. Additional evaluation criteria will include an applicant’s level of global citizenship and digital acumen.
