CSUF PRSSA Hosts Inaugural Graduation Ceremony

April 26, 2017

FULLERTON, CA. (April 26,2017) — California State University, Fullerton’s Public Relations Student Society of America, the largest communications organizations at the university, partnered with parent Chapter OCPRSA to host an inaugural graduation ceremony. The PRSSA Gala: A Night Among Graduates recognized graduating seniors who purchased graduation sashes.

The program began with recognizing Premier Patron sponsors and past CSUF alum Powerhouse Communications, Anaheim Garden Walk and Master Plan Communications for their support throughout the year as well as recognizing event partners OCPRSA and Global Results Communications.

The incoming 2017-2018 Executive Board was also recognized and officially announced.

“There is no greater way to end our year than recognizing dedicated PRSSA members and our Premier Patrons,” said Chapter President Andrew Vo. “This event would not be possible without the support we have been given.

OCPRSA President Brenda Springer offered a commencement speech to the graduates and reminded students of the importance of community once they graduate.

Vo bestowed sashes while Nadia Haidar, Account Coordinator from Global Results Communications, called graduates to the stage. Faculty Advisor Dennis Gaschen and Professional Advisor Matt Prince posed with each graduate for a photo opportunity before they exited the stage.

“PRSSA is a family here at CSUF, so we wanted our members to get the opportunity to say goodbye to their fellow classmates in a more intimate setting than the grand communication department’s ceremony,” said Special Events Director Natalie Rodriguez. “The event was a fantastic way to showcase our accomplishments as a Chapter and honor those students entering the professional world.”

The night was capped with raffle giveaways and a mixer, allowing PRSSA members and graduates from CSUF and Biola University to network with classmates, faculty, sponsors and YoPro, the Young Professionals Association within OCPRSA.
