Universal Music Group, UVU Alumna Returns To UVU

October 24, 2017

OREM, Utah (Oct. 24, 2017) — Utah Valley University’s Chapter of PRSSA recently welcomed UVU alumna Faith Tusieseina back to campus to speak to students on working in entertainment and share her journey of becoming a manager at Universal Music Group.

Tusieseina graduated from UVU with a bachelor’s in communication in 2014 where she also served on the UVU PRSSA executive board. After graduation, she moved to Los Angeles to begin an internship. What was supposed to be a part-time internship to gain experience turned into a full-time commitment with difficult tasks and hardships, according to Tusieseina.

“Think of ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ times ten,” Tusieseina said. Though the internship tested her and frequently prompted her to give up, she persevered.

When asked what advice she’d give to anyone pursuing a career in the entertainment industry, Tusieseina replied to, “Put up your dukes.”

Shortly after finishing her internship, she began working at Universal Music Group as an assistant. From there her career skyrocketed and took her to where she is today.

“Be kind. It will take you places,” was the lasting advice Tusieseina left for the Chapter.
