November 28, 2017

Chapter Legacy Continues at PRSSA National Conference

OREM, Utah (Oct. 14, 2017) — UVU PRSSA President, Wade Draper,  was awarded the National President’s Citation at the PRSSA National Conference on Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, in Boston, Mass.

The Citation is awarded to PRSSA students who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the Society and the field of public relations.

“I am honored to have been chosen for it,” Draper said. “I was required to write an essay to demonstrate how I have made a lasting mark on PRSSA at the Chapter and National Level. One thing that stood out to me when applying was how incredibly remarkable our Chapter is.”

Draper is a senior at Utah Valley University and has been active in the public relations field for the past couple of years. In the 2016–2017 school year, he served as the vice president of advocacy on the UVU PRSSA executive board. In May of 2017, he was elected as president of the Chapter. As president, his responsibilities include directing the Chapter’s operations, establishing goals for the Chapter, delegating responsibilities, motivating members of PRSSA and much more. He is an asset to the Society and will, no doubt,  prove to be the same in the field following graduation.
