Waynesburg University PRSSA Awarded Star Chapter Status

November 13, 2018

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Nov. 13, 2018) — Waynesburg University PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America) may be a small Chapter, but it achieved national recognition last month for its accomplishments during the 2017–2018 academic year. Waynesburg University PRSSA accepted the Star Chapter Award for the sixth consecutive year while attending the PRSSA 2018 National Conference in Austin, Texas, from Oct. 6–9.

The Star Chapter Award is an esteemed honor awarded to select Chapters in the organization. In order to receive the award, a Chapter must uphold a standard of excellence in meeting set criteria. This includes implementation of creative programming and relationship-building skills. As a result, Waynesburg University PRSSA has been continually recognized for upholding this standard.

For Chapter President Nicole Tobias, the award is a personal achievement and stands as a representation of her growth in dedication to the Chapter’s success.

“I am personally excited for this recognition knowing that I had a hand in applying for this award.  As a freshman, looking at all the great leaders before me, I wanted to be able to help the Chapter keep thriving like they did during my first two years in the Chapter,” Tobias shares. “To be able to follow in their footsteps and help the Chapter continue to thrive is a great honor.”

“Receiving Start Chapter status will also hold Waynesburg University PRSSA to a higher standard,” Tobias said. “Although we are celebrating our recognition, we also realize that there is more work to be done,” said Tobias. “We look forward to challenging ourselves to continue to do our best work possible, and hopefully win Star Chapter for the seventh consecutive year,” she said expectantly. Tobias is eager to keep the Chapter’s streak of success going for years to come.
