TEMPLE PRSSA HOSTS REGIONAL CONFERENCE IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE CHAPTER'S 50TH ANNIVERSARY

November 13, 2018

For Immediate Release

(PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (Nov. 13, 2018) — Temple University’s Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) was awarded  the winning bid to host the Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference by PRSSA during the organization’s National Conference in Austin, Texas, in early October. In conjunction with the celebration of the Chapter’s 50th anniversary, the Conference will be held March 22 and 23, 2019.

The event’s exact location will be announced within the following weeks, and is expected to attract public relations students all the way from New York to Washington, D.C. The Regional Conference will offer students a unique opportunity to expand their network by connecting with fellow PRSSA members, professionals and guest speakers from various industries. Panels, workshops and various networking opportunities also will take place during the two days. For additional information or updates on the Regional Conference, visit www.templeprssa.org/regionalconference or email fullserviceprorc@gmail.com.

The central theme of the Conference is “Being a Full Service PRo.” This theme addresses the need for modern public relations professionals to be full service, regardless of the type of public relations work they take on.

“The awarding of the Regional Conference is a validation of the hard work our Chapter has put in for many years,” says Assistant Chair for Public Relations and Chapter Faculty Advisor Gregg Feistman. “In today’s fast-paced industry it is imperative to be knowledgeable on a variety of skills  extending beyond the normal functions of a public relations practitioner. Temple PRSSA has established the theme to prepare students for their careers. As the public relations industry continues to evolve, professionals must adapt to effectively serve clients.

“As the oldest Chapter in the region along with one of the oldest and largest in the country, Temple PRSSA has served countless students by forging relationships and emphasizing mentorship, networking and leadership,” he added. He finished by saying, “This is an incredibly exciting opportunity not only for Temple students but for interested students throughout both the Philadelphia and Mid-Atlantic region. We look forward to hosting everyone.”
